The history of chocolate begins its 4,000 years of history in ancient Mesoamerica, present day Mexico and the birthplace of chocolate. The Olmec, one of the earliest civilizations in Latin America, were the first to turn the cacao plant into chocolate. They drank an ancient chocolate drink during rituals and used it as medicine.

Centuries later, the Mayans praised this chocolate as the drink of the gods and called it Xocolatl. 

XOKATOZ is a modern adaptation of this ancient term.

At Xokatoz, we’ve gone beyond the box when it comes to reimagining chocolate, exploring a plethora of flavour-rich and visually appealing organoleptic sensations. 

Our quest for contemporary experiences led us to develop chocolates that, in contrast to most other chocolates, offer a distinctive sensory experience.
